BLAWS OF THE AUGUSTANA CHAPTER OF THE STUDENT AFFILIATES OF THE AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY

ARTILCE I: NAME
The name of this organization shall be the Augustana Chapter of Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society

ARITCLE II: OBJECTS
The objects of this Chapter shall be to afford an opportunity for the students of chemistry in the Augustana Chapter to become better acquainted, to secure the intellectual stimulation that arises from professional association, to foster a professional spirit among the members, and to instill a professional pride in chemistry.

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
The membership of this Chapter shall be composed of Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society and Associates. Any student interested in the objects and activities of the Chapter may become an Associate upon receiving a majority vote of the Affiliates.

ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS
The officers of this chapter shall be a Chairman, a Vice-Chairman, a Secretary, and a Treasurer; who shall constitute the Executive Committee.
The officers shall be Affiliates elected by a majority vote of all Affiliates and Associates present.
The regular election of officers shall be at the first meeting in April from nominees chosen by nominating committee and nominations from the floor. They shall take office on the first meeting foll9owing and shall hold offices for one year or until their successors are duly elected.

ARTICLE V: DUTIES OF OFFICERS
The Chairman shall preside over all meetings and act as representative of the Chapter.
The Vice-Chairman shall preside in the absence of the Chairman and plan programs with the cooperation of the Executive4 Committee and Faculty Sponsor.
The Secretary shall keep an accurate statement of meetings held, dates of each, attendance, speakers, and subjects. This information together with a list of officers and the number of Affiliates and Associates on the Chapter roll shall be sent to the executive Secretary of the Society not later than May 15.
The Treasurer shall collect dues and keep an accurate record of monies.

ARTICLE VI: FACULTY SPONSOR
The Chapter at its annual election shall elect as its Faculty Sponsor a faculty member who is a Member of the American Chemical Society, whose duties shall be to serve as the official link between the Society and the Chapter and advise the Chapter both in its local activities and its relations with the Society.

ARTICLE VII: DUES
The annual national dues of Student Affiliates shall be transmitted of the Society by the Treasurer often Chapter.

ARTICLE VIII: AMENDMENTS
These Bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the members, provided the amendment shall have been proposed at least one meeting previous to the time of voting. Such amendments shall conform to the regulations established for Chapters of Student Affiliates.
