Counseling Services

Counseling services for Augustana students are provided by Sioux Falls Psychological Services a comprehensive and multidisciplinary group of more than a dozen mental health professionals. Personal and group therapy supports students with confidential, short-term individual counseling for a variety of personal issues such as adjustment to college, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and loss.

There is no cost associated with counseling when students are seen for short-term counseling, usually up to 10 sessions per academic year. Students who require extended or long term therapy may either be referred to other counseling services in the area or they may choose to establish long-term or extended treatment plans with Sioux Falls Psychological Services. Counselors are available to provide assistance and advice with insurance and sliding scales.

Services are available year round when classes are in session. Students may choose to see a counselor on-campus (Solberg Hall) or at Sioux Falls Psychological Services located at 1525 So. Grange Avenue, only a five minute walk from the campus.

Hours: Monday - Friday (when classes are in session)
Although most appointments are scheduled during the day (8:00 am - 5:00 pm), there is availability to see a counselor on weekday evenings through 8:00 pm. Call 274-5552 for an appointment.
