Cervical cancer is caused by certain types of a common virus. It's called human papillomavirus (HPV). Certain types of HPV can cause a cervical cancer and abnormal cervical cells. HPV often has no signs or symptoms. Therefore, many people don't know they have it.
The HPV vaccine consists of three doses over a six month period. This vaccine is available through Student Health and counseling Services at a reduced fee. Call the office at 274-5552 for questions and additional information. To find out more information about HPV click here: www.gardasil.
