We met with Loyalist ex-prisoners.  In the afternoon, we had a briefing by the RUC, the police force of Northern Ireland, as well as briefings by William Hay (DUP) and John Hume (SDLP).  Hume is the 1998 co-recipeint of the Nobel Peace Prize for his work toward peace in Northern Ireland.

We also visited the Peace and Reconciliation Group office for a briefing on 
community work in Derry.
