Online learning opportunities allow Augustana to offer the best in self-paced, text-based online courses. Several different flexible formats allow you to take a course when and where you want. These course credits will be part of your Augustana transcript.
Designed to meet the needs of professional educators, these courses fulfill requirements for license renewal when the student has obtained proper prior approval. Up to three credits from VESi, Educational Resources and Reclaiming Youth, and up to nine credits from Learners Edge, may be transferred into a graduate program at Augustana following the guidelines in the graduate catalog.
- Learners Edge — With more than 100 versatile, self-paced distance learning courses, Learners Edge courses are designed for teachers, by teachers and will help you increase student learning in your classroom.
VESi — These interactive, online continuing education courses provide expert instruction for teachers at a pace that fits your schedule. VESi courses are now tablet compatible, making it easy for you to recertify anytime, anywhere with reliable, stable online access. The email that contains your course link(s) will advise if your course(s) is tablet compatible. View a short VESi video. South Dakota Education Assocition members have the opportunity to take up to 3 VESi courses for $225.
Educational Resources — Courses from Educational Resources of MN help educators, administrators and coaches at all levels through week-long classes (in six states) and their video and independent study courses.
- CE Credits Online — CE Credits Online creates timely, relevant and research-based courses that have an immediate impact in the classroom. All courses are asynchronous, work-at-your-own-pace and have multiple assessments, opportunities to interact with other participants and one-on-one feedback from moderators with Masters or better degrees in education.
Reclaiming Youth at Risk — The mission of Reclaiming Youth at Risk is to provide research, training, and consultation to build strengths in children, families, schools, and communities. Drawing from these little-understood resources, current research, and the voices of positive educational pioneers, we provide a holistic approach to reclaiming youth at risk.schools, and communities.

Accreditation for Augustana courses is from the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
Augustana also offers a variety of workshops. While most workshop participants are adults, high school seniors may also participate and receive college credit.
