Augustana Administration Building

Genetic Counseling Tuition & Fees

The Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program is offered at a discounted tuition rate. Thus, Augustana does not offer any assistantships, fellowships, or scholarships for this program. The detailed Graduate program tuition and fee information can be found here. Undergraduate frequently asked questions can be viewed here.

Full payment for each academic session is due on Aug. 15 for the fall semester and Jan. 15 for the spring semester.

Tuition for Academic Year 2022-23 is $27,865, and expected tuition for the Academic Year 2023-24 is $28,700. Tuition is the same for in-state, out-of-state and international students. Other expenses include books and supplies, room and board, transportation, as well as personal and miscellaneous expenses. Tuition and an allowance for these expenses make up the Cost of Attendance (COA). In addition, students are charged Student and Technology Fees. These fees are $1,010 for Academic Year 2022-23. International students also pay a one-time International Student Fee, which is approximately $500.

The program tries to minimize other fees. However, immunization, background check, and drug screen requirements are set by rotation sites. Rotation sites also require that students maintain active, credible health insurance at all times throughout the program. The costs associated with immunizations, background checks, drug screens, and health insurance are the responsibility of the student.

The primary responsibility for financing a graduate education rests upon the student and is an investment in career preparation and personal fulfillment that should yield dividends throughout the student’s life. Students may be eligible for federal loans to supplement their own resources and help cover the COA. For more information, please refer to the Graduate Catalog or contact Augustana’s Financial Aid office.

The Augustana-Sanford Genetic Counseling Graduate Program does not offer any assistantships, fellowships, or scholarships. However, you may be able to receive outside financial support from other organizations, such as hospitals or health systems. This type of financial support is handled directly and exclusively by the organizations which offer it.
