Outline of the Major

Environmental Studies (33-38 credit hours)

The major consists of four components:

1) An Introduction to the science of Environmental Studies

  • ENST 180: Intro to Environmental Science (3 credit hours)

2) Three Core Courses: (students take one course from each of the three categories) (9 credit hours)

  • ENST 201: Environmental Policy (3 credit hours)
  • ENST 202: Environmental Culture (3 credit hours)
  • ENST 203: Geographic Environmental Data (3 credit hours)

3) A Focused Track: These include tracks in Energy, Chemistry, Philosophy, and more, including an Interdisciplinary Track tailored to the student's needs and interests. (15-20 credit hours)

4) Engaged Study: (Two courses under supervision of an advisor) (6 credit hours)

  • ENST 400: Senior Thesis (3 credit hours)
  • ENST 401: Practicum in Environmental Studies (3 credit hours)
