Augustana University has been a regional leader in nursing education for more than 75 years. The nursing profession has seen many changes during these years, impacting the way care is delivered. What hasn’t changed is the compassion and dedication that Augustana nurses bring to the profession, adapting to the changing landscape of healthcare.
The Augustana Nursing Department continues to embrace change. We are flourishing in our space within the Froiland Science Complex. The collaborative classroom spaces and state-of-the-art simulation center are home to our 184 junior- and senior-level, accelerated and international students.
While the environment for learning is vital, what’s more important to providing a high-quality liberal arts education are the people that provide the teaching-learning experiences for our students. The faculty and staff continually demonstrate their dedication to the discipline of nursing as an art and science and to mentoring our students to provide holistic care and to achieve the highest outcomes. The clinical partners that provide practical experiences are also integral to the success of our students. Immersion experiences in Eagle Butte, Ecuador and Norway provide other valuable learning opportunities.
I am proud to work with innovative nursing faculty that have a role in shaping the next generation of professional nurses and transformational leaders. It’s exciting to see what our alumni have achieved and the impact they have made in the evolving healthcare environment at augie.edu/NursingGrads.
The future of nursing is bright and bold at Augustana University.
