Accounting

Why study accounting?

An accounting program major prepares students to excel in private, government, corporate and nonprofit areas with a broad knowledge of business practices and types of accounting.

  • Accounting courses are taught with a forward-looking perspective, integrating technology and cutting-edge topics.
  • This program, paired with the Master of Arts in Professional Accountancy (MPA), meets requirements from the South Dakota State Board of Accountancy and others that have elected the 150-hour educational requirement to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
