Brian Beck, class of 1985, lives in Sioux Falls and works as a project manager for SDN Communications where he works with clients to implement technology solutions to solve business challenges.
He shares more about his life, career and why he supports Augustana:
Q. What inspires you to give back to Augustana?
A. Our son just entered his freshman year, making him a third-generation Viking. Being around the campus reminded my wife and me just how special Augustana can be in the lives of young adults.
Q. How did Augustana help prepare you for your career?
A. Besides giving me a liberal arts education, it taught me how to think, and how to solve problems.
Q. Best memories from your time on campus?
A. Meeting my wife. And, a late-night adventure that involved moving my friend's motorcycle into the Commons and setting up a fake "Augustana Booster Motorcycle Raffle." We had over 750 entries by lunch time.
Q. Were you involved in extracurricular activities while a student here? If so, can you tell us about your experiences?
A. I was involved in Concert Choir. It was a great way to meet people and establish life-long friendships.
