Augustana’s campus is centrally located in Sioux Falls within walking or biking distance of banks, grocery stores, restaurants, and other common destinations. Sioux Falls transit also makes a stop here. So while having a car can be helpful for getting around, it isn’t necessary to get places.
Online requests for 2021-22 will begin for 3rd & 4th-year students June 15th and 1st & 2nd-year students July 1st!
Those who wish to park a vehicle on campus must purchase a parking permit. To request a parking permit online, visit the student portal. New students select the "Incoming Students" tab (choose Student Info, Housing & Dining; select Permit Request). A student portal link will be available until Sept., 13th!
Returning students should select the "Current Students" tab (choose Student Info, Housing & Dining; select Permit Request). Permits are distributed on seniority and first-come-first-serve basis. Dates and deadlines are located on your student portal. We have transitioned to the FCFS basis to make our fall transition more efficient and for less parking and billing confusion.
Each student has the option of requesting a permit for the parking area designated for their housing placement (residence hall, theme house, apartment) or for the Elmen Center parking lot.
For the 2021-22 year, permits for residence halls or commuter permits are $205/year, while apartments, East Hall, and Elmen Center permits are $155/year. Theme House parking permits are now included within the housing contract, BUT a request must still be made to park a vehicle in the area designated for their house.
