Student Leadership Opportunities

The Augustana community is strong because of the students who share their time, talents, and energy making it a vibrant place. Check out these opportunities to leave your mark at Augustana.

The Augustana Student Association (ASA) is the official student government organization. ASA manages a substantial annual budget that supports programming and funding for ASA Recognized Student Organizations.

The Union Board of Governors (UBG) provides and organized, efficient, and effective program of social, cultural, and developmental activities for the Augustana student body. Under the direction of the Head Governors, additional Governors are selected for each committees including: Film, Dance, Coffeehouse, Entertainment, Culture and Fine Arts, Big Event, Marketing, and a Governor at Large.

The Welcome Week Committee sets the stage for life at Augustana by planning the 4-day orientation program for all new students each August.

The Viking Days Committee coordinates our homecoming celebration with a week of events designed to celebrate life as a Viking.

SKOL strives to build community, create and maintain traditions of Augustana, and be a driving force of school spirit and pride.

Augustana has 70+ ASA-recognized Student Organizations. All of these groups are student-led and provide excellent leadership development.

The Center for Campus Life Student Leader Positions include Viking Guides, Viking Advisors, and members of the Welcome Week Committee.  VAs develop community in the residence halls year round, while the Viking Guides are a continual resource, they are most influential in the first weeks of the fall semester.
