    • For alumni who are celebrating or have celebrated their 50th class reunion, with Augustana’s executive team to give an update on the many things happening around campus. Members of the class of 1973 will be inducted into the Augustana Honor Guard. Reunion photos for the classes of 1948, 1953, 1958, 1963 and 1968 will be taken at the luncheon. 

    • Registration is required, $22

  • Class of 1973 50th Reunion Memorial Service  |  ALUMNI EVENT

    • 1:30-2:30 p.m. | Chapel of Reconciliation

    • The class of 1973 will gather to honor classmates who have passed away. Registration is not required.

  • Class of 1973 50th Reunion Campus Tours  |  CLASS OF 1973

    • 3 p.m. | Meet at Ole Statue

    • The class of 1973 will receive tours of campus from Augustana students. Registration is not required.

  • Rendezvous Presentation: NORWAY  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • 4 p.m. | Back Alley, Morrison Commons

    • Augustana international students share presentations on their home countries. This week's presentation will be about Norway. Hosted by the International Programs Office and Augustana International Club, this event is free and open to the public.

  • Viking Days Exhibit  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • 5-7:30 p.m. (Special extended hours) | Center for Western Studies

    • Stop by to view "Viking Days: Like Always, Like Never Before." Pulling from the university archives, this exhibit explores the 100-year history of Augustana's annual homecoming event, with a particular look at how the "traditions" of homecoming have changed over time. This event is free to the Augustana community; registration is not required.

  • Class of 1973 50th Reunion Banquet Dinner  |  CLASS OF 1973

    • 5:30 p.m. | Hilton Garden Inn, Revir Ballroom A & B (201 E 8th St.)

    • Social begins at 5:30 p.m.; reunion class photo at 6:30 p.m.; dinner at 6:45 p.m. with President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin to visit and accept the Class of 1973 Endowed Scholarship check. The reunion class photo will be taken at this event. 

    • Registration is required, $45.50

  • Presidents & the Pond  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • 5:30-7:30 p.m. | Froiland Science Complex Room 113

    • This special event will feature themed foods and desserts based on favorites throughout the decades and the cultures that make up Augustana. At 6 p.m., you’re welcome to stay for the blessing and naming dedication of the Augustana pond. From 6:15-7 p.m., guests are welcome to visit with the presidents of Augustana, both current and former.

    • Registration is encouraged, event is free.

  • Homecoming 100th Anniversary: Alumni Art Invitational  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • Homecoming reception, 7-9 p.m. | Eide/Dalrymple Gallery

    • A group exhibition of invited alumni artists and awardees of the Harold Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art. The gallery talk will take place at 7:30 p.m.

  • Viking Marching Band — Alumni Rehearsal  |  STUDENT, ALUMNI EVENT

    • 9 a.m. | Fryxell Humanities Center, Room 168

    • Band alumni are welcome to participate with the Viking Marching Band for the tailgate performance and/or at the football game. For those interested in participating during the tailgate, meet at Augieville at 11:45 a.m. with the performance to begin at noon. Please RSVP or direct questions to Dr. Andrew Hayward, director of the Viking Marching Band, at andrew.hayward@augie.edu to ensure that a music folder is prepared for you.

  • Viking Days Parade Pancake Feed  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • 8:30-10:30 a.m. | Fryxell Humanities Center, Halverson Atrium

    • To celebrate 100 years of homecoming, the Advancement Office is bringing back a favorite homecoming parade tradition — the pancake feed.

    • Free-will offering

    • Don't forget to stop by the Vintage Viking Pop-Up Shop at the pancake feed! The shop will feature all things Augustana College and an expanded version of the Augustana Breakfast Club Cookbook, which includes Augustana favorites like Elsie's red velvet cake!

  • Viking Days Parade  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • To accommodate the parade, no parking will be allowed on the parade route effective 6 a.m. until the end of the parade. Please direct questions to Campus Safety at 605.274.4014.

  • Viking Days Tailgate  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • 11 a.m. | Augieville (outside Kirkeby-Over Stadium)

    • All alumni, friends and family are welcome to join us before the big game.

    • *Weather update: A-Club will not have an Augieville tailgate. Instead, A-Club members are invited to the northwest concourse of Kirkeby-Over Stadium at 11:30 a.m., when gates open, to redeem their free meals — Viking Passes required to redeem. All other fans can purchase food at the concessions.

  • Viking Football vs. MSU Moorhead  |  COMMUNITY EVENT

    • 1 p.m. | Kirkeby-Over Stadium

    • Tickets will be available at goaugie.com/tickets beginning in mid-August. The Viking Marching Band will perform at halftime!

  • Alumni Choir Rehearsal  |  STUDENT, ALUMNI EVENT

    • All choir alumni are invited to sing under the direction of Dr. Russell Svenningsen, director of the Augustana Choir, and Dr. James Johnson, conductor emeritus of the Augustana Choir, during Viking Days Worship on Sunday in the Chapel of Reconciliation.

    • Rev. Ann Rosendale '04, campus pastor, will lead the Augustana community in worship, featuring the Augustana Choir and Augustana Orchestra.
