Student Success at AU

The Student Success Center is a central place for career and academic support services — a hub for educational and vocational engagement. The center empowers students to discover and achieve their academic and professional goals from the point of entry to graduation and beyond. By partnering with faculty and other campus offices, the Student Success Center provides the support students need to make the most of their college experience.

The Student Success Center is dedicated to helping students:

  • transition into college and their careers
  • make informed choices regarding their academic program(s) and vocation
  • access an inclusive environment that permits them to learn
  • develop dynamic strategies to maximize their learning and academic success
  • locate opportunities for relevant hands-on learning
  • persist in their journey toward their educational goals
  • discover a deep sense of community by connecting with valuable resources and services across campus
  • secure meaningful employment or admission to graduate school

The university is proud to announce that the Augustana Art Department has presented its highest award — the Harold Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art — to Augustana student Gracie Korstjens ‘24 and Augustana faculty member John Henry Peters ‘76. The two were awarded the prestigious medal during the opening reception of the Augustana Senior Show at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery on Friday, April 26.

At just 19 years old and two years into her swimming career at Augustana, Bryn Greenwaldt '24 has accomplished a lot. She is a 3-time national runner-up — twice in the 50 freestyle and once in the 100 freestyle — and has earned eight All-America Honors in both the 50 and 100 freestyle, as well as in the 200 medley and freestyle relays. She has earned the title of NSIC Swimmer of the Year twice and of her most recent feats has included qualifying for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Mary (McConahie) Toso ‘90 was recognized with the award on Wednesday, April 17, at the university’s annual Service Awards & Retirement Recognition Ceremony in the Ordal Dining Hall in the Morrison Commons. The Augie Pride Award is given to those who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide exceptional service to the university — nominated by other AU employees.
