Advancement consists of the following:

The Offices of Advancement and Marketing are located on the third floor of the Administration Building, located at 2001 S. Summit Ave.

The campus scheduling and logistics staff office is on the main floor of the Edith Mortenson Center near the theatre and Student Services office suite.

Pam HomanDr. Pam Homan

Vice President for Advancement

Pam serves as the Vice President for Advancement and previously served as Executive Director, Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. From 2004-15, Homan served as superintendent of the Sioux Falls School District. A native of Sioux Falls, Homan graduated from Augustana in 1981 where she double-majored in elementary and special education. She holds a master’s degree in education from Augustana and a doctorate in education from the University of South Dakota.

Nate DallyNate Dally

Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving and Alumni Relations

Nate is the Assistant Vice President for Annual Giving and Alumni Relations. He works with donors to secure major gifts to the University — capital, endowed, or through estates. He earned his bachelor's degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, majoring in business administration, political science and English. Nate is a lifetime resident of Sioux Falls and has given more than 25 years of service to Augustana in the Advancement Office.

Bill Gross

Bill Gross '73

Senior Major Gifts Officer

After 28 years at the helm of the Augustana athletic department, Bill Gross left his position as Director of Athletics to be a Senior Gifts Officer. He works with donors to secure major, annual and planned gifts to the University. A 1973 graduate of Augustana, Bill has spent 35 years as a member of the athletic staff and has played a role in all aspects of the department, student-athlete, coach and administrator. He earned his master's degree in physical education from the University of South Dakota.


Mike FlynnMike Flynn

Director of Development

Mike is Director of Development. He works with donors to secure major gifts and planned gifts to the University. From 2004 to 2010, he was Executive Director of the Sioux Falls Catholic Schools Foundation. He earned his bachelor's degree from USD, majoring in business administration.


Jackie PayneJackie Payne

Director of Development

Jackie serves as the Director of Development, working with donors to secure major gifts and planned gifts to the University. She also leads the University's Parent Relations team. Most recently, she worked at Midcontinent Communications and, from 2001-2010, served as Senior Account Executive and Assistant V.P. for Wells Fargo. After attending two years at Augustana, she earned her B.A. at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.


Ali LangsethAli Langseth

Director of Major Gifts

Ali joined Augustana in 2016 after a seven-year tenure as CEO of Camp High Hopes in Sioux City, Iowa, a non-profit organization offering year-round therapeutic recreation programs and respites for youth and adults with diagnosed disabilities. In her role as CEO, she provided executive management, working with a volunteer board of directors to define the strategy and vision of the organization, and was responsible for the management of donor relationships. Prior to her time at Camp High Hopes, she managed the sales and training teams for Gateway, a former Fortune 500 company in North Sioux City, South Dakota. A Sioux Falls native, Ali earned her bachelor's degree from the University of South Dakota where she majored in psychology and communication disorders.


Brad HeegelBrad Heegel '76

Director of PVA Development

Brad serves as the Director of PVA (Performing and Visual Arts) Development. He leads the efforts for marketing this area (art, music, and theatre), fundraising for those departments, and coordinates the University music tour programs both at home and abroad. At Augustana since 1977, he has served as the director of admission, public events, and university relations, and as adminstrator for the performing and visual arts.  He also serves as the Class Agent for the Class of 1976.


Jon EngJon Eng '91

Director of Athletic Development

Jon is the Director of Athletic Development. He manages and secures gifts for the Augustana Athletic Club, which supports Augustana's student-athletes and athletic programs. A Sioux Falls native, Jon graduated from Augustana in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in history/secondary education.


Dawn KrumviedaDawn Krumvieda

Director of Development Operations

Dawn is the Director of Development Operations. Dawn joined Augustana in 1994. She oversees the fundraising database and assists the fundraising team.


Jane SchroederJane Schroeder

Advancement Analyst

Jane is the Advancement Analyst and also works in the Business Office as an Internal Auditor. She performs prospect research, oversees the annual scholarship banquet and assists with the database, report writing and other development areas.


Jennifer MeinersJennifer Meiners

Director of Event Services

Jennifer is the Director of Event Services, joining the Office in 2011. She graduated from Briar Cliff College in 1998 and began her career at Augustana University in 1998 as the government documents assistant at the Mikkelsen Library.


Carolyn CordieCarolyn Cordie

Advancement Coordinator

Carolyn is the Advancement Coordinator, joining the staff in July of 2014. She provides support for the Advancement office, with her main focus on Alumni Relations and Event Services. She came to Augustana from Citibank, S.D., N.A., where she worked in various roles for 26 years. 


Vicki WeiheVicki Weihe

Coordinator of Gift Processing

Our coordinator of gift processing, Vicki Weihe, joined Augustana in 2018. Vicki helps oversee all gifts and pledges to the University, manages student workers, and supports scholarship creation, prospect research and other development areas.

Alumni Relations

Adrienne McKeown '00Adrienne McKeown '00

Director of Alumni Association

Adrienne is Augustana's Director of the Alumni Association, coming to us in June 2016 after serving Citi in Sioux Falls as vice president and manager of Employee and Client Communications for the firm's Consumer Learning organization. She advises the Alumni Council, Class Agents, the Augustana Academy, and coordinates Viking Days, reunion and alumni programming. A 2000 Augustana graduate, she was a communications and journalism major with a minor in English. She was involved in the Augustana Student Association, the Mirror, the Edda, the Spirit Squad and the Viking Days Central Committee.

Peggy KapustaPeggy Kapusta

Director of Online Communications

As the Director of Online Communications, Peggy works with the campus community to gather, generate, and update website and e-communication content, while ensuring established editorial, graphic and navigation standards are followed. A South Dakota State University journalism graduate, Peggy came to Augustana in 2008 from Wells Fargo, where she was an e-business consultant.

Conferences and Scheduling


Sandy PohlmannSandy Pohlmann '90

Coordinator of Conferences & Scheduling

After working most recently as Assistant to the Dean of Students, Sandy is now our Coordinator of Conferences and Scheduling. She is responsible for managing facility use across campus and for coordinating off-campus rental requests. She also coordinates conferences held on campus, including planning and overseeing of Augustana's summer conference programs. Sandy graduated from Augustana in 1990 with majors in Computer Science and MIS.


Brian RiegerBrian Rieger

Logistics Coordinator

Brian is the Logistics Coordinator, managing major event set-ups on campus and providing logistical and technology support for meetings and conferences. Brian came to Augustana in 2005 after a career with Fuji Film. He has been in his current position since 2006.


Trenton HaanTrenton Haan

Assistant Logistics Coordinator

Trenton works with Brian Rieger as Augustana's Assistant Logistics Coordinator, on set-ups and tech needs for meetings and conferences on campus. Trenton joined the staff in July of 2015, most recently lived in Orange City, Iowa, where he attended Northwestern College.


Maddie ToddMaddie Todd

Assistant Logistics Coordinator

Madison "Maddie" Todd joined the staff in June of 2017 as Augustana's Assistant Logistics Coordinator for the Humanities Center. She manages recitals, concerts and performances for the Music Department, as well as other on- and off-campus events. Maddie is a 2017 Augustana graduate who majored in Religion and Sociology.
