Augustana does not collect references on these students, and compiles and distributes this information as a service to the students and the community. All arrangements — hours, payment, etc. — are negotiated between the student and potential employer. Nanny/Housekeeper: Professor Nesiba and his wife are currently looking for a Nanny/Housekeeper to work approximately 20 hours/week to help them with their two children for the summer. They prefer someone with a background working with kids with special needs, and may even be open to having the right person live with them for the summer. Until mid-May, duties would include housekeeping (sweeping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen counters, general pick-up, laundry), perhaps some occasional errands, and engaging two children, ages 9 and 11. Hours would be between 1-5 pm. Through the summer months, the primary responsibility would be with the children. Hours would be more flexible, but ideally would involve 2 consecutive, 8 hour days a week. Expectations would include offering opportunities for creative play and learning, activities in and out of the home, and appropriate periods of "down time." Although the 9-year-old is independent, the 11-year-old sustained a traumatic brain injury and needs assistance with activities.
