According to federal law, an institution may withhold any of the required fields of entry, i.e. the nature, date, time, location and/or disposition if any of the following conditions apply:

  • The disclosure is prohibited by law
  • If the disclosure would jeopardize the confidentiality of the victim
  • If disclosure would jeopardize an ongoing criminal investigation or the safety of an individual
  • If disclosure would cause a suspect to flee or evade detection
  • If disclosure would result in the destruction of evidence

  • 2:05 AM - Intersection of 33rd Street and Norton Avenue.  Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident / Driving Under the Influence.  Officer conducting vehicle patrol was waived down by a pedestrian who had witnessed a vehicle run over a STOP sign and directed officer in the direction the vehicle had fled. Officer discovered the vehicle pulled over to the side of the road near 37th Street and Norton Avenue. Driver attempted to walk away on foot but was detained until SFPD arrived and took charge of the investigation. Driver was arrested for DUI and transported to the Minnehaha County Jail. Incident report completed.
  • 2:51 AM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Well-Being Check.  DCS Dispatch received a call requesting a well-being check be conducted on a student. Student was located intoxicated but otherwise safe. Student was assessed and determined to be in no medical danger. Incident report completed.

  • 12:48 AM - Costello Hall Parking Lot, 2413 S. Grange Avenue.  Attempted Theft.  An officer conducting patrol observed a subject attempting to remove a sign from the parking lot. Subject was stopped and identified. Incident report completed.
  • 2:45 PM - Old Main, 2001 S. Summit Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officer on patrol observed a broken window on a campus building. Incident report completed.

  • 11:40 PM - Ronken Baseball Field, 33rd Street and Euclid Avenue.  Attempted Theft.  An officer conducting patrol on campus observed a subject on the baseball field attempting to remove College property from the field. Subject was stopped and identified. Incident report completed.

Thursday, May 21, 2015

  • 3:50 PM - Intersection of 33rd Street and Grange Avenue.  Motor Vehicle v. Pedestrian Accident.  At 5:05 PM a student presented at Campus Safety to file a late report of being struck by a motor vehicle while crossing at the intersection of 33rd Street and Grange Avenue. The driver of a red pick-up with a chrome cattle guard left the scene of the accident without stopping. The pedestrian suffered bruises to the arm. SFPD and ambulance responded and the victim declined medical treatment. Incident report completed and investigation continues.

  • 8:05 PM - 31st & Summit Avenue.  Suspicious Male.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone complaint of a male subject attempting to stop traffic and then asking for money.  Officers responded.  Officer Contacted Sioux Falls Police after the subject was located and found to be yelling at a house.  Incident report completed.

  • 3:00 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Sports Injury.  A student presented at Campus Safety to file a late report of a sports injury on May 18th. Student was participating in Karate class when struck in the head by another participant. Student was transported to a hospital emergency room in a private vehicle several hours later and diagnosed with a concussion. Incident report completed.
  • 10:11 PM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Disorderly Conduct.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a report of unidentified subjects throwing bottles and jars out of a 6th floor day room window. Officers responded and interviewed witnesses and the possible responsible parties. Incident report completed.
  • 10:48 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to a residence hall after an automated fire alarm was received in Campus Safety Dispatch. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded and determined that source of the alarm was a pull station. SFFR confirmed there was no smoke or flame and authorized reoccupation of the building. Incident report completed.

  • 12:01 AM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Medical Transport.  Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a medical emergency. Officers determined it was a non-emergency and complied with student request for transport to a hospital emergency room. Student was treated, released and transported back to campus. Incident report completed.
  • 1:39 AM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Probable Narcotics Violation.  Officers werre disptached to a dormitory to investigate a report of a marijuana odor in a residence room. Residence Life and officers were able to locate specific source of the odor and made contact with the residents. Residents were warned and an incident report was completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 4:53 AM - 723 W. 33rd Street.  Burglary Investigation.  METRO Communications requested DCS officers be on the lookout for a suspect in a neighborhood burglary incident. Suspect was located and monitored while SFPD responded and made contact with the suspect.
  • 5:16 PM - Costello Hall, 2413 S. Grange Avenue.  Bicycle Theft.  Students observed a subject matching the description of a bicycle theft suspect removing a bicycle from a bicycle rack. Students confronted the suspect who responded in a verbally aggressive manner and fled on the bicycle. DCS officers were notified and searched for the subject without locating him. Incident report completed and investigation continues.

  • 8:40 PM - Stavig Hall, 2008 S. Walts Avenue.  Students Trapped in an Elevator.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a call from a student reporting that five students were trapped in a dormitory elevator. Time coincident with the elevator malfunction an internet outage took down the campus telephone system including Campus Safety emergency alarm phones. Students were trapped in the elevator unable to communicate for approximately 20 minutes. Elevator contractor was contacted for an emergency service call but failed to arrive in a timely manner and Sioux Falls Fire and Rescue responded and rescued the students from the elevator. An incident report was completed.
  • 9:24 PM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Reported Bicycle Theft.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a report of suspicious man matching the description of a bicycle theft suspect removing a bicycle from a dormitory bike rack. Students observed subject leaving campus with the bicycle and reported it to Campus Safety. An officer was disptached to search for the subject; however, the subject had fled in the meantime. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  • 11:50 PM - Wahl House, 1826 S. Grange Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  METRO Communications dispatched Campus Safety officers to assist SFPD with a report of a loud party in a College owned independent living residence. SFPD dispersed the party and DCS officers made contact with  and counseled the residents. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 1:10 AM - 2301 S. Duluth Avenue.  Abandoned Property.  A neighborhood resident contacted Campus Safety to report a suspcious bag that had been abandoned in his yard. An officer responded, interviewed the resident and searched the bag. An assortment of alcoholic beverages and prescription drugs were discovered. SFPD was notified, took possession of the bag and took appropriate follow-up action. Incident report completed.
  • 12:30 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Bicycle Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to file a late report of a stolen bicycle. Bicycle was last seen approximately six weeks earlier and was locked to a bike rack. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  • 3:00 AM - Center for Western Studies, 2121 S. Summit Avenue.  Suspicious Behavior.  Student reported that a suspicious male had approached her in the Center for Western Studies and presented her with a baby rabbit. The subject claimed to be an employee of the Humane Society and attempted to converse with the student in a way that made her uncomfortable. Subject departed the building after three or four minutes. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  • 4:10 PM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Disorderly Conduct.  A College employee reported to Campus Safety that students in a dormitory were throwing objects from a sixth floor window. An officer responded and made contact together with Residence Life with one of the suspected individuals. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.

  • 7:45 PM - 2425 S. Norton Avenue.  Public Intoxication.  An officer conducting patrol observed an intoxicated male subject laying in the yard of a private residence and notified METRO Communications. SFPD was dispatched and took appropriate action. Incident report completed.

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

  • 9:00 AM - Gilbert Science Center, 2407 S. Summit Avenue.  Larceny.  Staff member contacted the Office of Campus Safety and reported that a media device had been removed from a class room.  Officer responded and conducted several interviews.  Forensic evidence was collected.  Incident report completed.  Investigation continues.
  • 3:40 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Harrassment Complaint.  Campus Safety was contacted by an individual that presented to the office.  The subject reported being harrassed by another subject.  The victim was interviewed and a suspect was identified.  The victim was offered a security escort but declined.  Follow-up on incident was completed.  College authorities were notified by investigating Officer of the incident.  Incident report completed.  Suspect is being monitored by DCS.
  • 5:00 PM - Public property near the intersection of 29th and Grange Avenue.  Possible Theft.  Officers observed a suspicious male subject walking a bicycle.  Subject matched the discription of a suspect wanted for questioning regarding multiple bicycle thefts in the area of the Augustana College Campus.  Sioux Falls Police were contacted and responded.  The suspect eluded the Police unit and Campus Safety Officers while on the suspected stolen bicycle.  Incident report completed.

  • 12:00 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Bike Theft.  A student called and reported that their bike had been taken.  The student then came to the Office of Campus Safety and gave information about the bike to an Officer.  Incident report completed.
  • 5:30 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report the theft of a cell phone and ID card from a locker room in the Elmen Center. Locker was not locked at the time of the theft. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  • 9:06 PM - Global Education House, 2001 S. Norton Avenue.  Fire Alarm Activation.  A fire alarm was reported by Metro Communication.  Officers responded along with the Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.  When SFFR and Campus Safety arrived on scene there was no smoke or flames visible.  SFFR completed a walk-through of the complex.  SFFR could not locate a cause for the alarm activation.  SFFR reset the fire panel.  Incident report completed.

  • 1:30 AM - 2100 Block of S. Euclid Avenue.  Dog Bite.  A student presented to Campus Safety to file a late report of being bitten by a dog described as a "small brown pit bull type" animal. Student sought medical treatment for the wound and a report was made to Animal Control. Incident report completed.

  • 12:45 AM - 2011 S. Grange Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  A Campus Safety officer made contact with resident and guests of a private house where a party in progress creating a protracted noise disturbance in the neighborhood. SFPD arrived on scene a short time later and broke up the party. Incident report completed.
  • 1:25 AM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Fight Disturbance.  Campus Safety officers were summoned to a College dormitory where a fight disturbance was in progress. Antogonists were separated, interviewed and referred to College officials for disciplinary action. There were no significant injuries reported and both parties declined to file charges. Alcohol was involved in the incident. Incident report completed.
  • 2:00 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Intoxicated Student.  Officer was dispatched to a dormitory to investigate a report of an intoxicated student unable to care for themselves. DCS and Residence Life determined that student's health was not in danger and Residence Life monitored the student's welfare the remainder of the night. Incident report completed.
  • 8:07 PM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Trespassing.  An officer observed a group of bicyclists performing stunts on their bicycles in violation of city ordinance. All subjects but one fled and the Officer made contact with the remaining bicyclist. Subject was warned not to return to campus with the bicycles. Subject to be trespassed for any future violations. Incident report completed.
  • 9:15 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officer investigated a report of damage to a restroom stall. Damage was documented and investigation continues. Incident report completed.

  • 7:30 AM - Summit Avenue Apartments, 2420 S. Summit Avenue.  Bicycle Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report a stolen bicycle. Bicycle was stolen some time during the previous 48 to 72 hours from a College owned apartment complex bike rack.  Bicycle was locked at the time of the theft. Incident report completed and investigation continues.
  • 1:48 PM - 2100 Block of S. Summit Avenue.  Motor Vehicle Accident.  Student reported that while attempting to leave a curbside parking space and enter traffic on Summit Avenue she backed into another car parked curbside on Summit Avenue. Driver of the struck vehicle arrived on scene and SFPD responded and issued red tags for both vehicles. Incident report completed.

  • 1:30 AM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Intoxicated Subject.  Officer observed an individual enter the commons.  The subject was very intoxicated.  The subject was identified as a Augustana student.  The subject lived off campus.  Officers found a responsible party to take custody of the intoxicated student and the student was transported to their residence.
  • 1:00 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Bike Theft.  Student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that their bike had been taken from the bike rack from East Hall.  Officer completed an incident report and patroled the campus looking for the bike.  Bike was not located at this time.
  • 12:43 PM - Tuve Hall, 2016 S. Menlo Avenue.  Student Wellbeing Check.  A concerned parent contacted the Office of Campus Safety and requested a wellbeing check of their student.  Officer made contact with the subject student.  All was well.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:10 AM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Domestic Violence.  An employee presented to the Office of Campus Safety requesting assistance with an ex-boyfriend that was currently on campus causing a disturbance.  The ex-boyfriend was located and removed from campus.  The subject was identified and was banned from campus.  Sioux Falls Police were advised of incident.  Incident report completed.

  • 11:16 PM - Intersection of 37th Street and Duluth Avenue.  Stalking.  A student contacted Campus Safety to advise that a vehicle was following her as she was driving in town and requested an officer meet and escort her back to campus. The suspect vehicle broke off contact and the student was met by Campus Safety officers. Suspect vehicle was described as possibly a black Ford Focus. Incident report completed.

  • 1:40 AM - Granskou Hall, 2009 S. Prairie Avenue.  Vandalism.  Officer conducting foot patrol discovered a damaged bicycle and an overturned trashcan outside of a residence hall. Alcohol that had been abandoned at the scene was confiscated and disposed of. Incident report completed.

  • 4:39 PM - Norway House, 1904 S. Grange Avenue.  Disorderly Conduct / Public Intoxication.  Officers responded to a report that a group of students living in a College owned residence were intoxicated, dancing on the roof of garage and creating a disturbance. Subjects were cleared from the roof, identified and directed to pick up the empty alcohol containers from the yard. Incident report completed.
  • 7:49 PM - Bergsaker Parking Lot, 1109 W. 33rd Street.  Vandalism.  A student presented to officers and reported that one of the tires on his vehicle had been slashed. Student had just returned from off campus and was not sure where the damage had ocurred. Incident report completed.
  • 8:15 PM - Norway House, 1904 S. Grange Avenue.  Disorderly Conduct / Public Intoxication.  Officers responded to a report that students living in a College owned residential home were intoxicated and creating a disturbance. Students were identified and directed to return inside the house. Incident report completed for review by College authorities.

  • 2:14 AM - Vicinity of W. 32nd Street and S. West Avenue.  Burglary Investigation.  METRO Communications contacted Campus Safety to advise of a burglary in progress in the neighborhood and a report that the suspects were fleeing on foot towards the Augustana campus. DCS officers patrolled in the projected path of the subjects and observed three suspicious subjects near 33rd Street and Grange Avenue who immediately fled on foot. SFPD was advised, responded and continues its investigation. Incident report completed.

  • 8:20 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Bicycle Theft.  A student presented at the Campus Safety office to file a late report of a bicycle theft from a bicycle rack at the Elmen Center. The bicycle was last seen approximately a week earlier and was locked to the rack at the time of the theft. Incident report completed and investigation continues.

  • 9:39 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Medical Emergency.  Officers and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a report of an injury at the Baseball Complex.  A spectator had been struck by a foul ball.  The victim was transported by ambulance to a medical facility for evaluation.  Incident report completed.

  • 10:38 PM - Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 909 W. 33rd Street.  Parking Violation.  Officer observed a parking violation.  The subject vehicle exceeded the maximum number of parking violations allowed by policy.  Subject vehicle was issued a citation.  The subject vehicle was towed.  Incident report completed.

  • 6:15 PM - Froiland Science Complex, 2407 S. Summit Avenue.  Construction Site Fire.  Campus Safety officers investigated a report of smoke at a builiding under construction. SFFR responded and extinguished the fire. Fire Department investigators determined the fire was caused by late flashing welding sparks. There was minimal damage to the building. Incident report completed.

  • 12:27 AM - Summit Apartments, 2420 S. Summit Avenue.  Public Urination.  Officer on patrol observed a subject urinating on a public street corner. Subject fled, was relocated, detained and identified. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 10:12 PM - Humanities Center, 2120 S. Grange Avenue.  Well Being Check.  Officers were requested to conduct a wel lbeing check on a student. Student was located safe and well. Incident report completed.

  • 5:20 PM - Solberg Parking Lot, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Damage to Vehicle.  A student waived down a DCS officer on patrol and advised someone had damaged the door to his vehicle while parked in the lot. Damage appeared to be inflicted by the door of a second vehicle. No vehicles in the lot appeared to have any correlating damage. Incident report completed.
  • 9:50 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  911 Hang-Up.  METRO Communications dispatched DCS officers to investigate a 911 hang-up call from the vicinity of a emergency call box near a dormitory. Location of the call was further narrowed down to a dormitory lobby; however, the caller had already departed. Incident report completed.

  • 2:15 AM - Vicinity of 33rd Street and Grange Avenue.  Hit and Run Motor Vehicle Accident / Driving Under the Influence.  A DCS officer was conducting vehicle patrol when he came across the scene of a hit and run accident. Intoxicated driver and striking vehicle were located a short distance away and held for SFPD response. A second hit and run scene associated with the same driver was located near the intersection of 28th Street and Summit Avenue. Intoxicated driver was arrested for DUI and Fleeing the Scene of an Accident and jailed overnight at the Minnehaha County Jail. An intoxicated passenger was transported to County Detox. Incident report completed.
  • 6:00 AM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Bicycle Theft.  A student presented at the Campus Safety office to report a stolen bicycle. The bicycle was last seen ina dormitory bicycle rack approximately three weeks prior. The bicycle was locked at the time of the theft. Investigation continues and an incident report was completed.
  • 7:45 AM - 2028 S. Grange Avenue.  Burglary.  College maintenance personnel reported that a garage owned by the College was broken into overnight and and equipment valued at $1,000.00 was stolen. SFPD responded to complete a report. Investigation continues and an incident report was completed.
  • 10:00 AM - Soccer Field, 2700 S. Grange Avenue.  Confiscated Narcotics.  College maintenance personnel reported finding a glass bottle containing several marijuana buds on an athletic field. The contraband was entered into evidence and an investigation continues. Incident report completed.
  • 11:30 PM - 2116 S. Norton Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  Sioux Falls Police Department and Augustana Campus Safety officers responded to a large noise disturbance and party at a private home occupied by local college students. Residents reported that large numbers of univited guests suddenly began showing up and took over a small gathering. Warnings issued to the residents and an incident report was completed.

  • 12:49 PM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report the theft of personal property from inside her vehicle the previous evening. A bottle of prescription medication was taken. The vehicle was reported to have been locked at the time of the theft. There was no evidence of damage upon entry. Incident report completed.
  • 6:22 PM - Administration Builidng, 2101 S. Summit Avenue.  DCS officers were dispatched to investigate a report of an injured man on the public sidewalk in front of the admministration building. Subject admitted to being intoxicated. A witness stated that the victim was walking a dog when the dog's leash became tangled around the victim's leg, tripping him. Victim suffered multiple cuts and bruises to his face after falling on the sidewalk. Rural Metro Ambulance responded and the victim declined medical attention or transportation. Incident report completed.

  • 4:39 PM - Costello Hall, 2413 S. Grange Avenue.  Appliance Malfunction.  Officer was dispatched to a report of an oven fire.  When Officer arrived on scene there was no visible flame or smoke.  After further investigation it was determined that there was an electrical issue with the oven.  The oven was taken out of service for repair.  Incident report completed.
  • 9:56 PM - Elmen Center, 2505 S. Grange Avenue.  Vandalism.  While on patrol an Officer observed a vehicle that had been vandalized.  Officer made contact with the vehicle owner.  Incident report completed.

  • 11:50 AM - Intersection of 30th Street and Grange Avenue.  Pedestrian vs. Motor Vehicle Accident.  Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Interviews with the involved parties determined that a north bound vehicle had stopped for a pedestrian to cross the street and a south bound vehicle was forced to stop unexpectedly. Victim stated he was not struck directly but fell to the pavement in startled reaction when the south bound vehicle slammed on the breaks and stopped immediately short of the victim. Both driver's stopped to assist the victim who suffered minor abrasions but refused medical attention. Incident report completed.

  • 11:13 AM - Morrison Commons, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  Bike Theft.  A student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that their bike was missing.  Officer took the student's information and completed an incident report.  The student's bike was not secure when it was taken.
  • 10:18 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Fire Alarm.  Campus Safety Dispatch received notification of an active fire alarm.  Officers responded.  Sioux Falls Fire and Rescure also responded.  Students and residents evacuated the building.  No fire or smoke was observed.  SFFR cleared the building and determined that it was safe for residents to return to the building.  SFFR determined that a second floor pull alarm had been activated.  Incident report completed.

  • 4:06PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Report of Smoke.  Officers investigated a report of smoke and a burning smell in a residence hall. Officers determined that an unknown subject had placed plastic items on an unattended hot burner. Reporting partie had already resolved the situation. Incident report completed.

  • 2:57 AM - Intersection of 33rd Street and Summit Avenue.  Citizen Assist.  Officer conducting vehicle patrol observed an intoxicated subject appearing to  be lost and stopped to assist. Subject had been separated from their party bus and still had several more miles to walk. Arrangements for alternate transportation at the expense of the subject were made and the subject was transported home. Incident report completed.
  • 11:35 PM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Disorderly Conduct.  Officers observed intoxicated subjects pouring liquid from a window on a sidewalk with pedestrians walking underneath. Room location and two subjects were identified. Incident report completd and forwarded to College authorities for review.

  • 10:29 AM - 1020 W. 28th Street.  Olsen House, 1020 W. 28th Street.  Bicycle Theft.  Student reported a missing bicycle after it was removed from where it was locked to a garbage can rack. The rack was disassembled by Maintenance / Grounds personnel and the bicycle set alongside the house. The bicycle was removed by person(s) unknown from where it was placed by Grounds. The lock was stilll on the bicycle at the time of the theft. Incident report completed.

  • 6:15 PM - Schoeneman Apartments, 1411-1419 W. 33rd Street.  Vehicle Damage.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of damage being done to a students vehicle.  Officer responded.  The rear window of a vehicle had been struck by a foul ball baseball and broke the rear window.  Baseball found on the rear floor of the vehicle.  Incident report completed.

  • 2:04 AM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  Officer conducting foot patrol investigated loud yelling and shouting coming from a dormitory building on campus. Source of the noise disturbance was determined to be a party in a residential room. Alcohol was confiscated and the party was terminated. Incident report completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 2:50 AM - Commons Circle, 2112 S. Grange Avenue.  An officer conducting vehicle patrol observed a vehicle, driving without lights, enter a pedestrian walkway and transit across campus on the sidewalks. Officers made contact with the driver and interviewed him. Alcohol was not involved and the driver was issued a citation for a moving violation. Incident report was completed and forwarded to College authorities for action.
  • 5:15 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Fire Alarm.  An automated fire alarm was received in DCS Dispatch and officers were dispatched to investigate. Upon arrival officers determined source of the alarm was cooking smoke. SFFR responded and authorized reoccupation of the building. Incident report completed.

  • 11:00 AM - Tuve Hall, 1109 W. 28th Street.  Bicycle Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report the theft of a bicycle from a dormitory bike rack. The bicycle was not locked at the time of the theft. Incident report completed.
  • 12:00 PM - Costello Hall, 2413 S. Grange Avenue.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report the theft of a stereo and cell phone adaptor out of a vehicle parked in a campus lot. Vehicle was not locked at the time of the theft. Incident report completed.
  • 4:10 PM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2332 S. Duluth Avenue.  Theft.  Student presented at Campus Safety to report the theft of approximately $15.00 cash from inside of his vehicle. Door locks were not operating reliably at the time of the theft. Incident report completed.
  • 7:20 PM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Well-Being Check.  Residence Life requested the assistance of Campus Safety to conduct a student well-being check inside a campus residential hall. Student was located safe. Incident report completed.

  • 12:51 AM - Solberg Hall, 2312 S. Grange Avenue.  Unauthorized Possession / Use of College ID Card.  An officer conducting foot patrol observed a student attempt to enter a dorm using another student's ID card. The student was identified and warned, the card confiscated and held for the owner. Incident report completed.
  • 1:01 AM - Duluth Place Apartments, 2340 S. Duluth Avenue.  Noise Disturbance, Party.  An officer responded to a complaint of a loud party and possible underage consumption of alcohol. Occupants of the apartment were warned, no underage guests were present. Incident report completed. 
  • 2:28 AM - Stavig Hall, 1101 W. 28th Street.  Theft.  Officer was dispatched to a theft report of a fire extinguisher from a residence hall fire station. Arrangements were made for a replacement and an investigation initiated. Incident report completed.

  • 12:25 AM - Granskou Hall, 1025 W. 28th Street.  Student Well-Being Check / Underage Consumption.  Officers responded to a request to assist Residence Life in assessing the well-being of a student. Student was determined to be in need of medical assistance and transported to a medical facility for treatment. Incident report completed.
  • 3:10 AM - Summit Apartments, 2420 S. Summit Avenue.  Disruptive Behavior / Underage Consumptiion.  Officers responded to a request to investigate an unidentified male subject pounding on an apartment door. Subject was unknown to occupants. Subject was identified, determined to be intoxicated and transported to his own dormitory. Residence Life notified and an incident report was completed.
  • 3:30 AM - 39th Street and Walts Avenue.  Fight Disturbance.  Officer conducting patrol on campus heard a loud disturbance from several blocks away and went to investigate. A physical altercation was observed in progress and DCS back-up was requested as well as SFPD support. DCS officers placed primary belligerent in restraints. Subject was intoxicated and under the influence of a controlled substance. SFPD arrived and took charge of the investigation. An ambulance responded and transported the subject to an emergency room for treatment. Incident report completed.

  • 10:09 AM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33RD Street.  Slip and Fall.  METRO Communications dispatched DCS officers to a residential hall to assist with a medical emergency. SFFR responded and provided emergency medical assistance. Victim was transported to a hospital emergency room for additional treatment. Incident report completed.

  • 7:55 AM - College Drive, 1100 Block.  Vehicle Break in.  Student presented to the Office of Campus Safety and reported that their vehicle was broken into and items were taken from the vehicle.  Incident report completed.  Sioux Falls Police responded and filed a report.
  • 11:44 AM - Tuve Hall, 1109 W. 28thh Street.  Well-being check.  The Office of Campus Safety received a phone request from a concerned parent asking to check on their student.  Officer checked students room and the student was located safe and well.  Incident report completed.
  • 6:03 PM - Green Overflow Lot, 1201 W. 28th Street.  Vehicle Break in.  Campus Safety Dispatch received a phone report of a vehicle break in.  Officer responded.  Several items were taken from the vehicle.  Incident report completed and Sioux Falls Police were notified and responded.

  • 12:20 PM - Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 908 W. 33rd Street.  Suspicious Subject.  OSL staff contacted the Office of Campus Safety by phone and reported a suspicious subject.  OSL staff reported that the subject may be related to a number of vandalisms that occurred at OSL and Augustana College.  Officers responded and located the male subject / suspect.  Officers interviewed the male subject and during the street side interview the subject fled from the Officers.  Officers gave chase.  The Sioux Falls Police were notified and PD Officers responded. The fleeing subject was subdued.  The subject was taken into custody and transported by PD to the Minnehaha County Detention Center.  Warrants for the subject were executed. Criminal Trespass Notice was given to the subject to stay off Augustana College property.  Incident report completed.
  • 6:07 PM - Bergsaker Hall, 1110 W. 33rd Street.  Well-Being Check.  A parent of a Augustana College College Student contacted the Office of Campus Safety and requested an Officer to conduct a well being check of their student.  Officer responded and made contact with the student.  Student was safe.  Incident report completed.

  • 8:00 AM - Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 909 W. 33rd Street.  Vandalism.  Officer took a report of vandalism in a church restroom. Damaged was documented and an incident report was completed. 
  • 8:53 PM - Diversity Experience House, 1000 W. 28th Street.  Fire Alarm.  Officers responded to an automated fire alarm at a campus residential house and confiirmed evacuation of the building. Source of the alarm was determined to be cooking smoke. SFFR responded and authorized reoccupation of the building. Incident report completed.
