Graduates with majors in STEM composite and education secure positions teaching in elementary, middle and high school. STEM composite graduates can also pursue careers in journalism, business, law and government, depending on their paired major.
Hands-On Learning
Internship opportunities include:

- Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Center

- South Dakota Bureau of Personnel, including the Department of Environment & Natural Resources and Game, Fish & Parks
STEM composite students often research or study away within their area of emphasis in mathematics, biology, chemistry or physics.
Courses & Organizations
While the STEM composite major may be paired with a wide variety of other majors, one of the primary goals in the design of the curriculum is to complement the secondary education major.
Students can choose to study two of these STEM areas:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Mathematics

- Paid laboratory assistantships and tutoring positions
