STEM Composite

Why STEM composite?

Students who study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) as a composite major will pair the natural sciences with a second area of study to broaden their career options in secondary education, journalism or business.

  • The STEM community at Augustana fosters self-efficacy and confidence for future professionals and educators with particular emphasis on underrepresented groups in STEM.
  • Students are encouraged to pair this South Dakota Department of Education approved major with AU’s teacher education program to integrate pedagogy across the sciences and become well prepared to teach.
