Student Engagement is grounded in the Social Change Model of Leadership Development and has two goals:
to connect students with each other and Augustana; and
to prepare leaders who will have a positive impact in a global society.
Students create meaningful learning opportunities through involvement in campus organizations where they learn to serve and lead. There are more than 70 student organizations at Augustana, as well as numerous service opportunities.
- Leadership is a collaborative process rather than a position.
- Leadership can happen anywhere, at any time.
- We are all unfinished learners.
- Service is a powerful way to develop leadership skills.
