In honor of Black History Month, the Augustana Diversity and Inclusion Office presents "Frederick: The Life and Legacy of Frederick Douglass" at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, and again at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 26, in the Edith Mortenson Center Theatre.
This one-man show performed by Dr. Robin Duncan tells the story of Frederick Douglass' journey from a slave to a 19th-century American hero.
Augustana will host leaders from the Sanford Underground Research Facility for a discussion titled "Big Science at Sanford Lab," an exploration of the Lab's impact on education and the economy in South Dakota, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16, in the Mikkelson Family Auditorium (located inside the Froiland Science Complex). A reception will follow.The event is free and open to the public.
From Norway to India, Guatemala, Ecuador, Germany, Italy and beyond, 171 Augustana students are spending the month of January studying the histories, economies, languages and cultures of countries around the globe.
