Ken McClain, MD, PhD, class of 1967, returns to campus Wednesday, June 24, to lead a seminar titled “Immune System Confusion: Defenders Defect.” The seminar begins at 3:00 p.m. in Gilbert Science Center room 101.
Wright, who gave the keynote speech at the Sioux Falls Business Conference’s “Ready to Rebound” seminar June 3 at Augustana College, is the incoming Nef Family Chair of Political Economy at Augustana.
The Vikings placed second in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference all-sports standings as every one of their teams had a winning season. Better yet, most of those teams qualified for the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Dr. Ivan Fuller, associate professor of Theatre and Chair of the Department of Performing and Visual Arts at Augustana, received a Holland New Voices award at the Great Plains Theatre Conference for his play "Eating into the Fabric."
The artwork of Spearfish, SD, artists Marion Toillion and her daughter Kathy Sigle is on display at the Center for Western Studies. The exhibit will be on display in the Madsen, Nelson, and Elmen Galleries at the Center through September 5.
The hands-on conference focused on providing strategies for independent businesses to position themselves for a successful rebound once the economy improves. The conference was presented by the Sioux Falls Business Journal and Augustana.
Dr. James Johnson, Dr. Christopher Stanichar, and Dr. Richard Swanson are recipients of the 2009 Granskou Award, a professional development award named for Augustana President Clemens M. Granskou (1932-1943).
“Tru Tick ‘n’ Tin” is the theme for the 34th annual Nordland Fest 2009 that celebrates traditional Scandinavian culture the weekend of June 20 on Augustana's campus.
Dr. John Pennington, Dr. David O'Hara and Dr. Julie Ashworth received faculty awards during Augustana's commencement ceremony. The awards included a faculty excellence endowment, research fellowship, and faculty excellence award.
