Sunday, November 1, is a day Augustana College has set aside for the women of the surrounding community. Food, fellowship, and other activities will conform to the day’s theme, all based on the afternoon performance of "Church Basement Ladies."
Augustana FRIENDSLink provides young adults with disabilities opportunities for continuing educational and social growth. Until now, the program has been supported by a United Way Community Impact Grant and other assorted grants.
Augustana will co-host the Jennie Finch Softball Camp in Sioux Falls, conducted by two-time Olympian Jennie Finch and some of her Olympic teammates Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30, at Harmodon Park.
This summer, sixty-one Augustana undergraduate and graduate students are participating in research projects on- and off-campus. Participating students are listed, and where available their mentor/advisor, project funding, and where the research is taking place.

Dr. M.C. “Terry” Hokenstad, class of 1958, was named 2009 Educator of the Year by the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education, honoring his commitment to gerontological education and greater understanding about aging and the issues and concerns of older people.
Peter Eide, 72, class of 1966, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009, in Scottsdale, AZ, following a lengthy illness. Eide designed the concrete statue of Ole in the Viking Ship that stands today near the center of the Augustana campus.
Augustana junior Bethany Jochim from Pierre, SD, has been named a Rossing Physics Scholar for 2009-2010. Jochim will receive a $10,000 scholarship from the Thomas D. Rossing Fund for Physics Education Endowment within the ELCA Foundation.
