The Pro Artis Scholarship is awarded to art majors and minors in amounts of up to $3,000 per year to incoming students who demonstrate visual art talent based on a portfolio submission. The preferred deadine is March 1.
- Be offered admission to Augustana University. Complete the admissions application at augie.edu/apply.
- Complete the Art Scholarship Application questions.
- Submit a portfolio and artsis statement in the "Upload Media" section of the application.
Students should upload a portfolio of 5-10 works of art representing at least two different media of any type. These should be uploaded as digital pictures of the works in jpeg, gif, tiff, pmp or png format. The portfolio should also include a list of the submitted artworks including title, dimensions, medium and year in school the work was created.
Students should include with their application a typed “Artist Statement” of at least 300 words. The statement can address some of the following:
For those who have been awarded the Pro Artis Scholarship, years one and two may include assisting with the art gallery or other needs of the Augustana Art department. As third- and fourth-year students, the commitment may include serving as studio technicians.
