The Math & Statistics Skills Center (MSSC), located in the Froiland Science Complex (Room 362), is a free drop-in service for all Augustana University students who are looking to improve their skills in mathematics and statistics. The center is for everyone — for students who need extra support to those who want to push their understanding further.
MSSC tutors receive regular training on content, teaching strategies and best teaching practices.
Among other things, tutors can:
- help you figure out a homework problem;
- dig deeper into conceptual understanding of abstract concepts; and
- discuss study strategies for upcoming exams.
The center offers spacious seating areas, white board space, projection capabilities and computers equipped with AI math tutoring software to allow for optimal learning and collaboration between students, their classmates and the tutors.
