Student Success at AU

The Augustana University Student Success Center (SSC), located in the Edith Mortenson Center, is a central place for career and academic support services — a hub for educational and vocational engagement. The center empowers students to discover and achieve their academic and professional goals throughout their Augustana experience. By partnering with faculty and other campus offices, the SSC provides the support students need to make the most of their college experience.

The SSC is dedicated to helping students:

transition into college life
make informed choices regarding their academic program(s) and vocation
develop strategies to maximize their learning and academic success
locate opportunities for relevant hands-on learning
persist on the path toward their educational goals

Building Belonging: 2025-26 ASA President, Vice President Let Community Guide Strategic Plan

Augustana Student Association (ASA) President Igen Nyawanda ‘28 and Vice President Maggie McKeown ‘28 started both college and ASA at the same time. After their first year, they bonded over their experiences and friendships built through ASA, sparking a new idea that would soon become a no-brainer — running together for president and vice president of ASA. Augustana University Accounting Graduates Ranked No. 1 in South Dakota, Top 10 in the Nation for CPA Exam Pass Rates

Augustana University accounting graduates who took the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination for the first time in 2024 had the highest pass rate in South Dakota and the sixth-highest in the nation. This is according to the latest data released by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Beyond the Books: Augustana Journalism and Media Studies Major Scores Internship With Sports Illustrated

Augustana University student Zach Richardson ‘26, of Canton, South Dakota, was given an opportunity to intern with Sports Illustrated in Fall 2025. The journalism and media studies double major, and AU Football player for five years, said building meaningful connections in the journalism field is important to his future career.
