Complete Your Bachelor's Degree in 3 Years

Our Degree in 3 program is for students who are ready to jump-start their career, while also experiencing everything Augustana University has to offer. Students can earn their bachelor’s degree in just three years by taking in-person classes throughout the entire year, including the summer months.

Whether or not you have previously earned college credits, this degree plan is designed for you to complete the programs in three years. Our enrollment team and advisors work with students individually to create the best path forward for the next three years.

Augustana University

Augustana Year Round

While earning a bachelor’s degree in three years, students study and live at Augustana throughout the entire year. The Degree in 3 program may begin with the summer semester. Students then continue throughout the year with fall semester, January Interim (J-Term) and spring semester. Depending on the student’s program of study and number of college credits they bring to Augustana, some summer semesters may not be needed.

Students in the Degree in 3 program also gain real-world experience with internships and jobs. The Augustana Student Success Center works with students to find job and internship opportunities that are related to students’ interests and goals.

If a student decides along the way that they’d rather complete their degree in four years, students can flex out of the Degree in 3 program at any time, without losing any credits.

Campus Life

Throughout the fall and spring semesters, students are welcome to participate in campus events, student organizations and clubs, intramurals, music and theatre, and other activities. Degree in 3 students also have the same residence hall and dining options as all students during the traditional academic year.

During summer semesters, Degree in 3 students can live on campus and eat with a summer meal plan. In addition, students can enjoy the outdoors on campus and around Sioux Falls — the campus green, Augustana Garden, hammocks around AU, Falls Park, city bike trails, Levitt at the Falls, downtown Sioux Falls and more.

Financial aid is available to Degree in 3 students and is similar to that of traditional 4-year students.

Our Office of Financial Aid works with students to offer a competitive financial aid package and provide financial aid counseling and resources.

Master's Degree in 4 Years

For students looking to get more than a step ahead, the Degree in 3 program can be combined with master’s degree options at Augustana. By completing a bachelor’s degree in three years, students can add one additional year to their studies and earn a master’s degree in just four years.
