A Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in American politics & policy degree at Augustana University is designed for students who are interested in local, state and federal positions, as well as interest group activists and policy researchers. Students who major in American politics & policy will:
- understand the fundamental concepts in the study of politics and political institutions;
- analyze the functions and outputs of U.S. political institutions and political behavior;
- examine and assess the policy-making process, from problem identification through policy evaluation;
- produce clear and persuasive written work about politics and political institutions; and,
- engage with the broader community through experiential and/or service learning.
