Biography 

Dr. Emily Wanless joined Augustana in Fall 2012, after earning a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Georgia. Wanless' teaching and research interests include state & local government, political ambition, American political institutions and elections. She is the author of several works on state legislative and gubernatorial elections, South Dakota politics and the impacts of term limits on political ambition. Wanless serves as the Nef Family Chair of Political Economy, where she engages students and the greater community on issues surrounding South Dakota's political economy.
