Archaeology Lab at AU

Established in 1982, the Augustana University Archaeology Laboratory is a cultural resource management (CRM) and archaeological research and teaching facility within the Augustana Department of Anthropology. For more than 40 years, the AU Archaeology Lab has been involved in archaeological, paleoenvironmental, ethnohistorical and historical studies throughout the Great Plains, Midwest and Rocky Mountain West. The lab is also dedicated to engaging in meaningful collaborations and partnerships with Tribal nations.

Student Involvement

The Augustana Archaeology Lab has several opportunities for students to get involved in field and lab research. The lab offers paid internships every summer for students who are interested in CRM training, as well as volunteer opportunities throughout the semester. The lab also participates in outreach events with local schools and community partners.
