The mission of the Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing (SC&M) is to create awareness while enhancing the image and reputation of Augustana University.

Telling the Augustana story is the goal of each image, advertisement and event. SC&M aims to project a consistent brand identity, establish and promote events that celebrate the joy of Augustana, report campus news, maintain strong relationships with the media and broader Sioux Falls community, recognize the achievements of students, professors and alumni, as well as target communication to each of our audiences using a variety of media.

For Augustana University alumni Sarah Nohr ‘21 and William Kruse ‘21, what began as a chance reuniting on the university’s campus grew into something much more. The two met in preschool and reconnected in the university's Augie Access Program. They shared their first date in the Morrison Commons, got engaged near the Fryxell Humanities Center and are set to be married in the Chapel of Reconciliation on campus.

Augustana University and the Center for Western Studies (CWS) announced that the 29th Boe Forum on Public Affairs will feature an evening with Former NATO Supreme Allied Cmdr. James “Jim” Stavridis — a 4-star U.S. Navy admiral, New York Times best-selling author, Bloomberg Opinion columnist and senior military analyst for CNN. His talk, entitled “Geopolitics Beyond the Horizon: 21st Century Global Risk and Opportunity,” will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 26, in the Elmen Center on Augustana’s campus.

A total of 173 Augustana University students chose to make the world their classroom for January Interim (J-Term) 2026 — a 4-week session between semesters designed to be a time of curricular exploration and enrichment for students. The majority — 162 students — are taking part in Augustana faculty-led courses. The remaining 11 students are traveling as part of outside programs.
