Foundations of Faith Community Nursing

A collaborative course offering of Augustana University, Avera Health and Sanford Health.     

Faith Community Nursing prepares registered nurses to address health needs with a faith community and assists interested churches in initiating Faith Community Nursing services.

This course prepares a licensed, registered nurse in the specialty practice of professional nursing (Faith Community/Parish Nursing) that focuses on the intentional care of the spirit as well as the promotion of whole-person health and the prevention or minimization of illness within the context of a faith community and the wider community.

The Foundations of Faith Community Nursing course is based on the curriculum developed through the Westberg Institute for Faith Community Nursing, which curriculum is owned by the Spiritual Care Association, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 900 New York, NY 10018.

An application for continuing education credit will be made.
