• Available to continuing students who serve as camp counselors (and other camp related positions) in a Lutheran camp for at least six weeks during the summer.

• Application form | This form must be completed and submitted prior to the start of camp after receiving a position. Augustana will contact the camp director to certify employment.

Dr. Lucy Fryxell and Dr. Donald Fryxell taught English at Augustana from the 1950s through the 1980s. Both were master teachers who cared about students and cultivated their potential. Lucy established the Don Fryxell Scholarship in memory of her husband. She desired that the scholarship be awarded to scholars who wish to study the humanities. The Fryxells had a special affinity for literature and the pursuit of an elegant and excellent use of the English language. Therefore, special consideration is given to candidates with an interest in studying English and/or journalism.

• Available to freshmen interested in humanities areas — preference given to English or journalism majors.

Alumni Legacy Award

• Available to to full-time, degree-seeking students whose parent, grandparent, sibling or spouse earned a bachelor's or master's degree from Augustana.
• Amount available | $1,000 per year, renewable

Family Tuition Grant

• Available to full-time students who have an immediate family member enrolled full-time at Augustana.
• Amount available | $1,000 per year when immediate family member enrolled full time

The Parish and College Together (PACT) Program is a matching grant program for students from their congregations. The purpose of PACT is to provide financial assistance for students who wish to attend Augustana University. 

Augustana has opened the PACT Program requirements and removed all deadline dates for PACT matches. Churches are welcome to submit a PACT Agreement Form to notify us which students will receive a scholarship. All scholarships provided by any church will be matched up to $500 with no deadline for the PACT Form submission or notification. 

How PACT Works

Any full-time student who receives a scholarship of any amount from their church is eligible to receive a matching grant up to $500 from Augustana. 

Receive the Matching Grant

Any representative from the church may fill out the PACT Agreement Form, listing the names of qualified students who will attend Augustana the next academic year or the student may fill out a Report an Outside Scholarship Form listing the name of the church and amount of the scholarship. There is no notification deadline to receive the matching grant, although AU requests that notifications are completed before July 1.

Music Ensemble Scholarship

• $1,000 per year, renewable (plus $1,000 with Viking Marching Band participation)
• School of Music ensemble placement audition each semester
• Five hours per week; 2-3 concerts per semester; one tour per year
• Private lessons each semester are encouraged
• Complete the Registration Form

Music Honors Scholarship

• $3,000 per year, renewable (plus $1,000 with Viking Marching Band participation)
• Available to those who have participated in an All-State or an honor band
• School of Music ensemble placement audition each semester
• Five hours per week; 2-3 concerts per semester; one tour per year
• Enroll in and complete private lessons each semester of first and second year
• Complete the Registration Form

Pro Musica Scholarship

• $8,000 per year, renewable (plus $1,000 with Viking Marching Band participation)
• School of Music ensemble placement audition each semester
• Five hours per week; 2-3 concerts per semester; one tour per year
• Enroll in and complete private lessons each semester
• Complete the Registration Form. You must be accepted to the university and submit your audition application by Feb. 1.

Studio Scholarship

• Up to $5,000 per year, renewable (plus $1,000 with Viking Marching Band participation)
• School of Music ensemble placement audition each semester
• Five hours per week; 2-3 concerts per semester; one tour per year
• Enroll in and complete private lessons each semester of first and second year
• Complete the Registration Form

Viking Marching Band Scholarship

• $3,000 per year, renewable
• No audition required
• Participate in the Viking Marching Band each fall semester
• Fall Semester: nine hours per week; 15 hours during game weeks
• Spring Semester: Up to three required appearances
• Complete the Registration Form

Pro Dramatis Scholarship

• Available based on performance and potential as determined by application, audition and selection by the faculty of the Theatre Department.
• Amount available | Up to $2,000 per year, renewable

• Available based on talent and potential as determined by application, portfolio and selection by the faculty of the Art Department.
• Amount available | Up to $2,000 per year, renewable

• Available to students planning to major in a science-related field. Must possess a 27 ACT or 3.7 GPA if applying without an ACT score.
