Biography 

April Valentine has had a career in higher education spanning more than two decades, including teaching French at Grambling State University, where she gained an interest in becoming an international education administrator. Her first study abroad experience during high school led her to pursue a longer-term program in Paris, France, as an undergraduate student from Gustavus Adolphus College. During graduate school at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, Valentine received a Belgian government scholarship to conduct research and study in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Her work at several institutions in the U.S. has enabled her to work with many study abroad and international students. She enjoys learning about other cultures and helping students navigate the complexities of immigration regulation compliance, as well as adjusting to life in the U.S.

 

Valentine plays the trombone with her husband in small ensembles and community bands.
