Jeff Ebner PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, SCS, OCS, CIDN, AFAA-CPT

Biography 

Dr. Jeff Ebner's professional journey has not followed a straight line, but each step has helped shape the clinician and educator he is today. Ebner began his career as a personal trainer and assistant aquatics director before becoming a licensed physical therapist assistant. He later returned to school, repeated prerequisite courses and earned admission into a PTA-to-DPT bridge program.

After graduating as a physical therapist, Ebner completed a sports residency and became a board-certified sports clinical specialist. Ebner's desire to continue growing led him to independently prepare for the Orthopedic Clinical Specialist examination, which he passed the following year. During this time, he also began mentoring sports and orthopedic residents. Through mentorship, Ebner discovered how much he enjoyed helping others develop their knowledge, clinical reasoning and confidence.

As Ebner looked for additional opportunities to teach and contribute, he was encouraged to pursue fellowship training. After two years of advanced clinical and professional development, Ebner became a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists. During his fellowship, Ebner joined Augustana University in Minnesota as associated faculty. That experience confirmed that teaching was not simply something Ebner enjoyed, it was the direction he wanted his career to take.

Ebner continued pursuing opportunities in academia, and he is grateful to have transitioned into full-time teaching. He is also earning a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy degree, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2029.

Ebner's journey has taught him that professional growth does not happen all at once — growth happens through persistence, humility, mentorship and a willingness to keep learning. He hopes to bring those same values into the classroom and help students become thoughtful, confident and compassionate physical therapists.
