Biography
Dr. Jessica Bombino-Elliott is a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist (NCS) and physical therapist, with more than 15 years of clinical experience across acute care and post-acute rehabilitation settings. Her clinical expertise focuses on neurologic rehabilitation, trauma and critical care, with a particular interest in disorders of consciousness (recovery from coma) following severe brain injury.
Bombino-Elliott's research focuses on improving assessment, interpretation and communication of recovery in patients with disorders of consciousness. Current scholarship includes the development and evaluation of clinical decision-support tools, implementation of evidence-based guidelines, and measurement approaches to improve clinical decision-making across the continuum of care.
Bombino-Elliott maintains an active clinical practice and is passionate about preparing future physical therapists to provide evidence-based, patient-centered care for individuals with complex neurological conditions.
