Margaret Carmody, EMPA

Biography 

Margaret Carmody joined Augustana University’s leadership team in 2026 as the vice president of administration — bringing extensive leadership experience in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Her previous roles include serving as chief strategy officer for the Washington Pavilion and vice president of development for the University of South Dakota Foundation & Alumni Association, as well as spending a decade leading organizational culture, brand and corporate communications at Raven Industries. An active Sioux Falls community leader, she serves as chair of the Board of Trustees for Dow Rummel Village, vice chair of the Sioux Falls Zoo & Aquarium Board of Directors, a founding board member of Go Beyond and co-founder of the Power Lunch mentoring program. She holds both a B.S. in contemporary media & journalism and an Executive Master of Public Administration (EMPA) from the University of South Dakota.
