Biography 

Megan Wiessner joined Augustana University in 2023 as assistant professor and program director for the communication disorders program. She earned a bachelor's degree in communication disorders from Augustana University in 2004 and a master's degree in speech-language-hearing sciences from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in 2006. She worked as a speech-language pathologist from 2006 through 2023 in a variety of settings, including public school, specialty school and outpatient settings.

 

Wiessner specializes in multidisciplinary evaluation of Autism Spectrum Disorder, speech-language intervention with autistic individuals from toddlerhood through adulthood and Augmentative and Alternative Communication. She holds certification as a practitioner of Early Start Denver Model for Young Children with Autism and has presented on numerous topics locally and nationally, including twice at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association national convention.
