The Augustana University Economics Department supports the study of philosophical, historical, governmental and mathematical aspects of the economy as it acquaints students with economic aspects of society, familiarizes them with models and techniques for analyzing economic problems and enables them to develop critical skills for evaluating economic policy and institutions.

Augustana is excited to once again host its annual Arthur Olsen Student Research Symposium, set to take place on Saturday, April 13, at the Froiland Science Complex, located on the university’s campus.
In September, Augustana University began offering a quantitative economics (QE) major, alongside its economics major. Quantitative economics is the economics degree with an emphasis on the quantitative (side) with three parts: analyzing situations using models, empirical analysis and computer simulations.
