What is the deadline for submitting a dual credit course for approval?
Spring and full-semester course applications must be received no later than the preceding Dec. 1, while fall course applications must be received no later than the preceding May 15.
What teachers are eligible to teach a dual credit course?
Dual credit faculty requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in content area
- Master’s degree or higher in education or a related field or 18+ graduate credit hours in content area
Where will Augustana credit transfer?
Augustana is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Because of this, Augustana’s credits transfer to most colleges and universities across the nation.
What are the student registration dates?
Students are able to register for dual credit classes during their semester of enrollment. For fall semester courses, the deadline is Dec. 1. For spring and year-long courses, the deadline is March 31.
How are the courses transcripted?
When a teacher has submitted final grades for a course, they are posted to the student’s transcript. The transcript will have Augustana’s course equivalency and the student’s letter grade. These transcripts can be sent to the student or any college or university in the country. Students should request transcripts at www.augie.edu/transcript. If the student is placing their order before final grades have been posted, they should indicate on their order that they wish to have the transcript held for current semester grades.
What students are eligible for dual credit?
Students who are in their junior or senior year of high school and meet the academic requirements are eligible. Students should have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, as well as grades of "B" or better in prior content-related courses.
Is there a requirement or limit to the number of dual credit courses a student can take in a semester?
There are no restrictions set by Augustana on the number of courses a student can enroll in while in high school.
How does a high school apply for dual credit?
High schools must submit the Augustana Dual Credit Agreement, along with a course approval form for each qualifying course.
Is there a fee for high schools to participate in the dual credit program?
There is not a fee for high schools to apply and enroll in the dual credit program. The only cost of the program is the per credit fee for students.
How are students' grades submitted?
The high school teacher will submit their students’ final grades to Augustana through the Registrar’s Office. The grades should be the overall course grade and should be submitted using the Augustana grading scale:
A+ = 4.0
A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3
D = 1.0
D- = 0.7
F = 0.0

Dual credit courses are offered by Augustana University in partner high schools, providing college credits for courses taught on high school campuses by the school’s highly qualified instructors. Students enrolled in dual credit can receive both high school and college credit for the course. Most colleges and universities will accept dual credit if the student earns a grade of C or better.
