The mission of the Office of Strategic Communications & Marketing (SC&M) is to create awareness while enhancing the image and reputation of Augustana University.

Telling the Augustana story is the goal of each image, advertisement and event. SC&M aims to project a consistent brand identity, establish and promote events that celebrate the joy of Augustana, report campus news, maintain strong relationships with the media and broader Sioux Falls community, recognize the achievements of students, professors and alumni, as well as target communication to each of our audiences using a variety of media.

Supported by Rosemarie and Dean Buntrock and in partnership with the Center for Western Studies (CWS), Augustana University is excited to announce free tickets for the Critical Inquiry & Citizenship Colloquium with Dr. Michael Sandel. The world-renowned philosopher and author will give a keynote presentation to the AU community at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Elmen Center to kick off the 2-day colloquium, with a book signing following the event.

Augustana is proud to announce that it has been ranked a Top 5 Regional University in the Midwest in Best Value by U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 Best College Rankings — viewed as the gold standard in college rankings lists.

The university is excited to announce that a total of 2,158 students chose to find their bold at Augustana for Academic Year 2023-24. Hailing from 42 states and 57 foreign countries, the number marks the largest student body in 44 years at Augustana.
