A total of 173 Augustana University students chose to make the world their classroom for January Interim (J-Term) 2026 — a 4-week session between semesters designed to be a time of curricular exploration and enrichment for students. The majority — 162 students — are taking part in Augustana faculty-led courses. The remaining 11 students are traveling as part of outside programs.

Hosted by Augustana University and the Center for Western Studies (CWS), the 28th Boe Forum on Public Affairs will feature an evening with Jon Meacham, presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. The talk, entitled “What Has America Learned?” will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Wednesday, March 19, in the Elmen Center on Augustana’s campus.

Augustana and its Alumni Reflect on Band’s 125th Anniversary
A celebration of the Augustana Band’s 125th anniversary will take place on Thursday, Nov. 11. The concert at the Washington Pavilion entitled “A Prairie of Voices,” will feature the All City Middle School Honor Band, as well as a commissioned piece by Dr. James M. David, an internationally-recognized composer.

Augie Access Program Reconnects Childhood Friends, Sparks Love Story
For Augustana University alumni Sarah Nohr ‘21 and William Kruse ‘21, what began as a chance reuniting on the university’s campus grew into something much more. The two met in preschool and reconnected in the university's Augie Access Program. They shared their first date in the Morrison Commons, got engaged near the Fryxell Humanities Center and are set to be married in the Chapel of Reconciliation on campus.

Augustana University’s 29th Boe Forum to Feature Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander
Augustana University and the Center for Western Studies (CWS) announced that the 29th Boe Forum on Public Affairs will feature an evening with Former NATO Supreme Allied Cmdr. James “Jim” Stavridis. His talk, entitled “Geopolitics Beyond the Horizon: 21st Century Global Risk and Opportunity,” will be held at 7:30 p.m., on Thursday, March 26, in the Elmen Center on Augustana’s campus.

Liberal Arts and Support at the Center of Augustana's Graduate Outcomes
A newly published report by Augustana University shows that 98% of 2025 graduates — who completed degrees in August, December and May of Academic Year 2024-25 — achieved a positive career outcome. Many of these graduates chose to continue their education, with 22% enrolled in graduate school or professional programs.

Augustana Eide/Dalrymple Gallery Showcases Highlights From Carl Grupp Permanent Art Collection
The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery’s biennial “Highlights from the Carl Grupp Permanent Art Collection” is an opportunity to sample some of the 4,000+ artworks that comprise the permanent art collection at Augustana University. The collection will be on display through Thursday, March 19, with a reception on Friday, Feb. 20, from 7-9 p.m. and gallery talk at 7:30 p.m. at Augustana's Center for Visual Arts.
