Outside Scholarship Opportunities for Augustana University Students

Augustana University accounting graduates who took the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Examination for the first time in 2024 had the highest pass rate in South Dakota and the sixth-highest in the nation. This is according to the latest data released by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).

Sponsored by Nyberg’s ACE, Augustana University will once again host Ace’s Painting Party on Sunday, April 26, from 3-5 p.m. — an annual tradition that allows area community members to paint the ice at Midco Arena. This year, the Augustana Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be putting on the event, which will provide an opportunity for Augustana’s student-athletes and the community to come together to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Augustana University Eide/Dalrymple Gallery presents “Flower and Flame,” a powerful exhibition by artist Deborah Mitchell — on view through April 23. Free and open to the public, a reception for “Flower and Flame” will take place in the Center for Visual Arts on Friday, March 27, from 7-9 p.m., with an artist talk at 7:30 p.m.

Augustana Student Association (ASA) President Igen Nyawanda ‘28 and Vice President Maggie McKeown ‘28 started both college and ASA at the same time. After their first year, they bonded over their experiences and friendships built through ASA, sparking a new idea that would soon become a no-brainer — running together for president and vice president of ASA. During their time in office, their administration is focusing on three pillars of their strategic plan.

Augustana University student Zach Richardson ‘26, of Canton, South Dakota, was given an opportunity to intern with Sports Illustrated in Fall 2025. The journalism and media studies double major, and AU Football player for five years, said building meaningful connections in the journalism field is important to his future career.
