Presented by the Promising Futures Fund, Augustana University is excited to announce that its School of Music (SoM) will host the 2023 Middle School Choral Festival at 7 p.m. on Oct. 23, in the Mary W. Sommervold Hall at the Washington Pavilion. The Ben Reifel, George McGovern and Whittier Middle Schools choirs will join Augustana choirs for an unforgettable choral experience.

Augustana Offering Social Work Minor this Fall, Bachelor of Social Work in Fall 2024
Augustana University is offering social work as a minor this fall, followed by all Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) courses for the major beginning in the fall of 2024 — part of Augustana’s Viking Bold: The Journey to 2030 strategic plan to establish new academic programs grounded in the liberal arts that challenge the intellect while responding to the needs and interests of students.
Augustana University to Offer Men’s and Women’s Club Hockey
Augustana is excited to announce that the university will offer men’s and women’s club hockey beginning in Fall 2024. The university will also make the club sport of figure skating even more competitive, including the addition of a coach.

Augustana University Announces $13.8 Million Gift in Support of Scholarships for Students in ELCA Congregations
Augustana University is elated to announce it has received a historic $13.8 million gift to help support students who are active and engaged members of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregations throughout the Midwest. Thanks to the generous gift from Rosemarie and Dean Buntrock, the university has established the Buntrock Scholars Program.

Augustana’s Eide/Dalrymple Gallery Features Photography of Artist’s Journey Through Infertility Treatments
The Eide/Dalrymple Gallery at Augustana University opens “Rachel Cox: Exercises for Control: Part I (an end and a beginning),” which will be on view from Friday, Oct. 6, through Wednesday, Nov. 8. A gallery reception will take place on Friday, Oct. 13, from 5-7 p.m., with an artist talk at 6 p.m. Rachel Cox has created a body of work that examines the personal and cultural stigmas associated with female infertility and assisted reproductive technologies (ART).

Augustana University students JayVian Farr ‘24 and Sam Skarstad ‘24 were crowned the 2023 Viking Days Royals at coronation on Wednesday, Sept. 20, in the Elmen Center. The coronation took place in front of a crowd of students, faculty and staff following the Viking Feast on the third day of AU's homecoming.
