Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy is the signature element of Augustana’s MBA program, providing a link between academic theories and on-the-job realities. The Leadership Academy consists of the Mentoring Program and monthly MBA Leadership Seminar Series.

Mentoring Program

Successful business leaders working in the Sioux Falls region are paired with students based on common professional interests. The mentors help students define professional development goals, expand networks and bring business concepts to life. Students and mentors discuss contemporary theories and concepts from coursework in the context of the mentor’s industry. Mentors work in industries such as:

  • Banking
  • Construction & Manufacturing
  • Finance
  • Health Care
  • Hospitality
  • Human Resources
  • Insurance
  • Marketing
  • Media
  • Real Estate

MBA Leadership Seminar Series

These seminars promote engagement between industry leaders and students within the MBA program. Each month, one or more top leaders from the Sioux Falls region interact with students about a relevant leadership topic to enhance students’ knowledge and experience. Providing a platform for graduate students and community members to come together, the series allows for networking, in-depth discussions and engagement. Mentors are welcome to attend every seminar and topics provide guidance for mentor/student discussions.
