Biography 

Dr. Stephanie Bruggeman teaches labs in introductory biology, genetics, cell biology, introductory microbiology and general biology, as well as the Preserving the Planet Through Beer, Bread and Brie class for scientific intersections. She is also the brewing & fermentation minor program coordinator. She earned a Ph.D. in plant science, M.S. in biology and B.S. in microbiology at South Dakota State University (SDSU), where she performed research in molecular biology, greenhouse gasses, soil community structure and soil remediation before becoming an assistant professor in crop science at SDSU. Bruggeman transitioned to Augustana in 2019, and serves as an advisor for the pre-vet and Augie Brew & Gold clubs on campus.
