Augustana University student Patrick Adah ‘26, who hails from Lagos, Nigeria, is an engineering physics and dual-degree engineering double major. He is interning at the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SD-DOT) in Mitchell, South Dakota, where he reviews construction plans, conducts field tests and collaborates directly with contractors on highway and bridge projects.

At the Birdcage and home of Sioux Falls' professional baseball team, you’re guaranteed to find Vikings among the Canaries. Along with three Augustana Baseball alumni in Sioux Falls Canaries uniforms, the team employs an alumnus as its sales executive and three students as summer interns. Canaries President Brian Jamros is also a familiar face within the Augustana School of Business and its Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program.
Augustana University Upgrades Neuroscience Minor to Major in Fall 2024
Beginning in the fall, Augustana University will offer a major in neuroscience. The major will be in addition to the neuroscience minor, which launched in Fall 2022, as well as a neuroscience emphasis for psychology majors.
Augustana Nursing Graduates Achieve Highest NCLEX Pass Rate of BSN Programs in South Dakota in 2023
Augustana is proud to announce that the university’s Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) graduates within its School of Health Professions achieved a 95.5% National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN®) pass rate in 2023 — the highest of all 4-year BSN programs in South Dakota, and the third highest among all RN programs in the state. In addition, Augustana’s December 2023 Accelerated Nursing Program graduates achieved a 100% pass rate.

Julia Radtke ‘24, who graduated from Augustana University in May, has received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program Award from the U.S. Department of State and Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board to conduct research in Norway for the 2024-25 academic year.
Augustana University to Offer Sports Broadcasting Minor in Fall 2024
Augustana University will offer sports broadcasting as a minor beginning in the fall. The minor will help students build careers in a field that includes both traditional broadcast and cable outlets, and new and ongoing digital platforms.
