The Augustana University Communication & Media Studies Department teaches students to use critical thinking and essential communication skills in formal, business settings and understand media through an academic lens. The department is grounded in the belief that the core of all human communication is social influence.

Augustana student Mariya Mamman ‘25 is a communication studies/business and economics double major from Jos, Plateau, Nigeria. She is interning this summer at the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls, gaining experience as a social media & events intern.
