Augustana is proud to announce the launch of its Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program in the fall of 2022, with an emphasis in two areas — adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner (AG-ACNP) and adult-gerontology clinical nurse specialist (AG-CNS). Beginning in the summer of 2023, the university will also offer two post-master’s certificate options, including AG-ACNP and AG-CNS.
The Augustana University Men’s Hockey Team has its first-ever head coach. Garrett Raboin, assistant coach for the University of Minnesota of the Big Ten Conference, has been selected to be the inaugural head coach of the Viking Hockey program — set to take the ice in the 2023-24 academic year.
Augustana students Courtney Chrystal ‘23 and Giselle Mawadri ‘22 were selected to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative University (CGI U) — a community of young leaders dedicated to developing innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing problems.
After more than 15 years, Augustana University has decided to bring back its social work program within the Sharon Lust School of Education — naming it after the former Director of Augustana’s Social Work program and Assistant Professor Emerita of Social Work Dr. Harriet Emily (Johnson) Scott ‘59.
A 14-panel reredos depicting the life of Christ, donated to Augustana in 1962 in honor of Paul Rogness ‘58, will emerge from storage and find its new home in the Chapel of Reconciliation.
In October 2021, Augustana University announced that it will be home to the Viking Men’s Hockey program — set to take the ice in the fall of 2023. The home team bench at Midco Arena will be named the Nehring Family Nice Foundation in celebration of Randy and Debbie Nehring.
