$1 Million Matching Gift Provides Foundation for Augustana University to Establish De & Dave Knudson Center for Global Engagement
As part of a ceremony held this afternoon, Augustana University dedicated the De & Dave Knudson Center for Global Engagement — previously known as the International Programs Office (IPO). Housed in the Administration Building on campus, the creation of the De & Dave Knudson Center for Global Engagement is part of Augustana’s strategic plan — Viking Bold: The Journey to 2030. With the creation of the De & Dave Knudson Center for Global Engagement, Augustana’s goal is to provide more than just essential services, but to better prepare students for an interconnected world in which we live.
Augustana Alumna, Employee of Nearly 20 Years Honored With 2025 Augie Pride Award
Tresse (Klumper) Evenson '04 has been named the 2025 Augie Pride Award winner. Evenson was recognized on Wednesday, April 30, at the university’s annual Service Awards & Retirement Recognition Ceremony in the Ordal Dining Hall of the Morrison Commons. Her parents, husband, four children and two nieces, who went to great lengths to keep the award a secret, were all in attendance.

A 14-panel reredos depicting the life of Christ, donated to Augustana in 1962 in honor of Paul Rogness ‘58, will emerge from storage and find its new home in the Chapel of Reconciliation.
Augustana Art Department Awards Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art to Two Graduating Artists
The university is proud to announce that the Augustana Art Department has presented its highest award — the Harold Spitznagel Medal for Achievement in Art — to two Augustana students. Randi Inez Eggum ‘25 and Quinn Ward ‘25 were awarded the prestigious medal during the opening reception of the Augustana Senior Show at the Eide/Dalrymple Gallery on Friday, April 25.
Augustana University to Host 16th Annual Lighting the Way Autism Conference & Autism Walk
Augustana will once again host the Lighting the Way (LTW) Autism Conference “Pathways to Wellness” on Friday, June 6, in the Fryxell Humanities Center on the university’s campus. Free and open to the public, the Lighting the Way Autism Walk will then take place on Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. - noon, on the Morrison Commons Patio.
