Dual Credit in High School

Students on CampusAugustana University offers dual credit courses, delivering college credits for courses taught on partner high school campuses with the school’s curriculum and by the school’s highly qualified instructors. Students enrolled in dual credit can receive both high school and Augustana college credit for the course. Most colleges and universities will accept dual credit if the student earns a grade of C or better.

A dual credit course is taught at the college level, so it prepares students for rigorous college course work and eases the potentially difficult transition from high school to college. Through dual credit courses, students are receiving college credit during high school at a significantly reduced rate of a traditionally enrolled college course. Therefore, it reduces the cost of a college education and, potentially, the time needed to complete a degree program.
